All Sports Culture, a social media site. created a formula to calculate the success value of all the 30 MLB teams.  In this post are the results of that calculation.

These rankings are meant to be a discussion starter, not an end all decision.  You have the right to disagree and don't hesitate to post your comments on the list.

Top Teams of Just the Last Five Years

The LA Dodgers have won the NL West 4 of the last 5 years.  Winning the World Series in 2020.

The Astros have won 4 straight AL West crowns and have played in 3 of the last 6 World Series winning it in 2022.

The Braves won 4 straight NL East crowns before losing the the Phillies in 2024 and won the World Series in 2021.

The Rays won Divisional crowns (AL East) in 2020 and 2021 and lost in the World Series in 2020.

  • Pre-1969 World Series Win- 12 points
  • Pre-1969 World Series Loss - 7 points
  • Modern Era World Series Win - 20 points
  • Modern Era World Series Loss - 10 points
  • League Championship participation - 5 points
  • MVP winner - 5 points
  • CY Young winner - 5 points
