Each summer the Indiana High School Baseball Coaches Association (IHSBCA) holds its annual North – South All-Star Series for the top seniors in the state. As a part of this experience, we host a Futures Games Showcase event on the Wednesday preceding the three-day All-Star weekend. This year’s Futures Games will be on Wednesday June 19, 2024 at Huntington University in Huntington, Indiana beginning at 9:00 AM EST. (registration begins at 8:30 AM)

We solicit names from key people who are well versed on baseball in Indiana, including high school and college coaches and professional scouts, and the following players have been recommended to participate in this event and they have accepted that invitation.  Below is a list of what the players will be participating in:

Format will consist of showcase events as well as a 6-inning game for the participants.
The 60-70 players will be divided up into 4 teams and each team will play 1 game.
Lunch will be included in your day.
A player will participate in their primary position during the game, however can showcase at one other position.
Juniors will be the focus for the invitations, but sophomores will also be able to participate in the event.
On the average, each year we have 20-25 college coaches and a couple of scouts in attendance 

The workout will be in two parts with the showcase portion starting at 9:00 AM EST. The game(s), lunch, and a college tour will follow in an order TBD.  Each player will receive a Player Workout Video that will have all measurables that can be used in the recruiting process, as part of their registration fee.

2024 IHSBCA Futures Games Agenda: Wednesday, June 19th , 2024

Showcase Structure: 4 teams composed of mainly the class of 2025 players and somefrom the class of 2026. Teams will have 2-way players, in some instances, and generally consist of 6 pitchers, 2 catchers, 3 MIF, 4 Corner IF, and 4 OF. Each player will be assigned a team color shirt upon checking in that day (Green, White, Blue, Gold). All players please wear your high school hat during this showcase. Huntington University is a Turf Field. Please bring BOTH Molded Cleats and Turf Shoes. NO METAL SPIKES!

Times (adjustable) – If we get ahead of schedule we will stay ahead: All Times are (EST)
7:45-8:30 check-in for all players. Will receive colored shirt indicating which team. ****Team Green, Team White, Team Blue, Team Gold***
8:30-8:45 Futures Games Introduction and Format
8:45-9:00- stretch for 60’s and Run 60’s Green team runs first, other three stretch Green runs first, White runs second, Blue runs third and finish with Gold,
Showcase Format
9:00-9:30 – 60 yd run for time.
9:30-9:45 – Catchers throws to 2nd- use couple of infielders at 2nd OF warmup and throw in right field
9:45-10:05 – OF Throws to bases-use catchers: 2 throws to 2nd, 3 throws to 3rd, 3 to home; infielders warm up in left field
10:05-10:30 – Infield showcase short/first base; First baseman field and throw to third
10:30-10:40 – setup for BP - Green team hitting in cage...any Green Team players that have completed outfield/catcher drills can be hitting in cage early.
10:40-11:45 – Batting Practice rotation (1) Green hit, White hit in cage, Blue and Gold shag, (2) White hit, Blue in cage, Gold and Green shag, (3) Blue hit, Gold in cage, Green
and White shag, (4) Gold hits, Green, White, and Blue shag)

6 inning game/Pitcher Showcase:

Pitchers get 10 showcase warmup pitches. Pitch that inning, Max of 25 pitches. If inning not complete, just flip inning.
-Batters will hit in jersey number order; All position players bat (PO’s do not bat)

12:00 – Start Game 1 Green vs. White- Blue and Gold team will eat lunch and have a college tour; then watch the Green – White Game. (Lunch will be provided)
1:45 – Game 1 ends, setup for Game 2
2:00 – Game 2 begins- Blue vs. Gold- Green and White team will eat lunch and have a college tour; then watch the Blue–Gold Game. (Lunch will be provided)
3:45 – Game 2 ends.
***In the event of the possibility of rain, we have access to the Huntington University Field
House and we have a turf field, so the Futures Games will continue as scheduled***
